Telehealth Counselling Services

I provide trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive counselling to individuals affected by a broad range of adverse experiences (past, present or ongoing) as well as those experiencing stress and anxiety; grief and loss; challenging life transitions; depression and crisis situations.

By delivering services online through a secure Telehealth platform, clients can access support from the comfort of their own space, offering more flexibility and choice for those with demanding schedules, in positions of frequent travel and routine change, to expatriates and people living outside of urban centers, and to those who simply feel more comfortable receiving support from their own space.

My Approach

I take a client-centered approach which allows me to work together with my clients every step of the way. I invite my clients to be active participants in their therapeutic process. Together we begin by collaboratively identifying the presenting issues and establishing goals for treatment.

Treatment is highly tailored to the individual needs of each client and I employ a variety of evidence-based modalities and strategies to help move the client towards their desired outcomes.

I prioritize re-establishing a sense of internal and external safety in clients who have experienced trauma and adversity, as well as building resources and resilience by giving them the skills to self-soothe, tolerate distress, regulate emotions, access support and develop healthy coping strategies.

As a therapist, I deeply value respect, open-mindedness and compassion – they are at the core of my practice. I fully respect the autonomy of my clients and their right to make choices. I view each client as the expert on their own life.

I believe an essential part of being trauma-informed is offering my clients experinces that are the opposite of trauma dynamics: I offer relational safety, choice, empowerment, predictability, transparency and respect. I aim to build-on the strengths and resilience of my clients through our work together while honouring their resources and sense of self-determination.

Intention
My goal is to help individuals integrate distressing and traumatic memories into their life narrative with a new, healthy, empowered sense of self and view of the world. I seek to honour the resilience in my clients and to support post-traumatic growth by enhancing positive self-concept and a deeper connection to one’s individual and cultural sense of purpose and meaning in life.
